Pascal’s Wager is Not That

What’s Up Heathens! Today we are investigating Pascal’s Wager. I’ve addressed this in previous videos but we need to be diligent about refuting these dumb claims. This guy has visual aids which are always encouraged.

Today, our subject starts out with calling Pascal’s Wager one of the best tools against atheists. Pascal’s wager is not one the best tools you can use. It’s actually one of the worst tools in existence. Pascal’s Wager is a False Dichotomy because it represents a belief in one particular god against no belief. There isn’t just one particular god that is possible but a multitude of gods that are possible. If you add the 2 other major religions today into the mix you would have 16.666% (ironic as fuck lol) chance that you picked the correct religion. Believing in none of those gods would yield a 50% chance of being correct. As you add more and more religions to the mix the percentage would keep dwindling down to near nothing while no belief remains at 50%. Pascal’s Wager, when completely considered, is actually an argument to not believe in any god.

Halfway through this mess of a video he changes his argument to “convincing atheists there is a benefit to believing in god.” That benefit is eternal life. You know something we don’t believe exists. It’s still not even a good tool for that. He says that nothing happens in any other situation but it’s not “nothing.” It’s hell. Hell-fire and pineapples are what happens if you don’t believe in a specific god. None of this changes the fact that when you consider all the religions, their individual percentages or infinitesimally small.
