Anti-LGBT Lawyer claims Homosexuality is a Religion
Religion is getting Fabulous
Chris Sevier is an attorney who is suing Rep. Susan Davis for displaying an LGBT pride flag outside her office. This is the same man that unsuccessfully sued many states "for the right to marry a laptop computer" in an attempt to delegitimize same-sex marriages. In his case against Rep. Susan Davis he cites that Homosexuality is a ... Religion:
Sevier’s 38-page complaint asks the federal District Court in the District of Columbia to determine that “‘homosexuality’ and other forms of self-asserted sex-based identity narratives are a ‘religion,’” and that the colorful banners are a religious symbol for the “homosexual denomination.” He is seeking to force the members of Congress to remove the flags.
This is just ridiculous and is a waste of tax payer money. Sexuality, in general, cannot be a religion as it does not meet any of the criteria to be a religion.
Sevier is asking for only $1 in damages because this case is more about establishing homosexuality as a religion than being a real lawsuit. Rep. Davis responded to the lawsuit by saying that it only encourages her:
Davis, who was served with the lawsuit this week, said the flag outside her office isn’t going anywhere and that the legal action only encourages her to double-down on her support for equal rights for members of the LGBTQ community.
I think it's awesome that she is turning this into something positive. When negatively respond to what I'm doing, it only encourages me to keep doing what I'm doing.
Sevier is not only trying to define homosexuality as a religion, he wants to reverse marriage equality and prohibit sodomy in general. He also wants representatives who display the rainbow flag to be removed from office.
Let's all welcome Chris Sevier as the newest Conservative Snowflake.
