What Is Genetic Entropy? Are Genetic Mutations Harmful?
Mutations are fine
Today on the Christian Sophistry Discussion, we are discussing what genetic entropy is and if it's a real thing. I offer some more information on Genetic entropy at the end and why it is not a concern for evolution or genetics in general.
So today we are discussing the possibility that genes undergo entropy as they are passed to their offspring. I try to understand from Josh's perspective what that would look like. Would we see shorter lifespans or just more cases of the genetic disease? I'm not sure what it would look like.
What I do know is that harmful mutations do not survive long enough to outlive beneficial mutations. An organism's environment heavily dictates whether a mutation is beneficial or harmful. Of the surviving mutations, beneficial ones outweigh the harmful ones.
