RE: Turning pastor atheist by forcing him to follow the law

The Story

So this blog post is responding to this pastor that was on the news discussing being forced to follow the law concerning prayer at public football games held by public schools and funded by public funds. The segment, as shown below, starts out fantastically by calling it a "Fight for Faith." Motherfucker really? A fight for faith? I don't recall anyone forcing you to give up your religion in order to take part in the activities. You want to talk about a fucking fight for faith... go to Syria or Iraq right now. Those people are actually fighting for their faith and it's not just Christians. It's everyone that is coming under attack.

Now how the Freedom from Religion Foundation works is that they get a complaint from someone or something is national enough that it catches their attention. They don't spend hundreds of hours searching through random local papers looking to cause people grief. They are a reactive organization. So they suggest a compromise in order to accommodate those not of the Christian faith... fuck them right.

Constitutional, Unconstitutional that is the question

Forcing a publicly funded school activity to take part in one religions holy practice is indeed unconstitutional. My guess is that if it were Muslims that were forcing the football players to pray before the game in the special "Kiss the feet of the pedophile" kind of way, your ass would be praising the FFRF right now.

The Constitution of the United States works both ways dipshit. The First Amendment protects your right to have your religion and it protects others from having someone's religion pushed on them. You can't just go around shoving Jesus down the throat of unsuspecting victims like some kind of rapist.

So what does the first amendment say exactly?

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

That means that according to the constitution you cannot promote one religion over another where the government is concerned. During the time the Constitution was written, there were no public schools. Those that sculpted our government made sure that it was pliable enough to be used wherever the government extended to. What this means is that currently in our public school system you cannot perform religious ceremonies where the public has funded the activity. This isn't forcing anyone to hide their beliefs. This is forcing people to follow the rules that have been in place since our government began.

Forcing him to call his position a "life coach" does not tell him that "you cannot have your beliefs." It's saying that "with public funding at this activity we must be in compliance with federal laws and not promote one religion over another due to the fact that OTHER FUCKING RELIGIONS EXIST IN THIS COUNTRY BESIDES CHRISTIANITY AND SOME MAY NOT EVEN HAVE A FUCKING RELIGION"

The Real Issue

The real issue here is simply this:

Christians in America have been getting their way for the past 200+ years in this county. The number of “nones” or secularists in this country has become a nuisance to them because they want to apply the constitution correctly instead of twisting them into whatever they want them to be. If something needs to be changed, they go through the proper channels to change it. Christians just do shit. They do it because GAWWWWWWWWD and that's all the reason they need. They top the day off with a middle finger to those who are different from them by telling them to get out of their Christian nation which would make the founders vomit uncontrollably in their graves.

Open Letter to Christians

Dear Christians,

Unless someone is actively incarcerating you for simply believing in Jesus, then nobody is taking away your right to believe in Jesus. Nobody is forcing you to be an atheist. If you would like to see what it's like to be forced into another religion, please go and speak to ISIS.

Thank you,

Rational Fucking People.
